Finding Inspiration for Conservation in Every Direction
The Trinidad and Tobago Bird Observatory (TTBO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and study of the region’s remarkable birdlife. Located in the heart of Trinidad’s Northern Mountain Range and Speyside Tobago, TTBO serves as a hub for research, education, and community engagement, with a focus on monitoring bird populations, conducting scientific research, and promoting sustainable environmental practices. Through bird banding, habitat restoration, and public outreach, we work to protect the unique bird species of Trinidad and Tobago and foster a deeper understanding of the importance of biodiversity conservation.
TTBO is dedicated to the conservation and study, we believe that by understanding the lives of our birds, we can inspire conservation efforts and ensure that future generations can enjoy the rich avian diversity of our islands.

Our Story
Founded by passionate conservationists and bird enthusiasts, TTBO emerged from the growing need to protect Trinidad and Tobago’s diverse avifauna in the face of increasing environmental threats. After years of involvement in bird research and community conservation efforts, our founders realized the urgency of establishing a dedicated observatory to monitor bird populations, study migratory patterns, and raise public awareness about the importance of conservation. Since its inception, TTBO has grown into a collaborative effort, working with local and international partners to implement conservation projects and provide educational programs that empower communities to take an active role in protecting their natural environment. Today, TTBO continues to lead critical conservation initiatives while inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.
