TTBO Takes Flight: At the BirdsCaribbean International Conference

TTBO proudly represented Trinidad and Tobago at the BirdsCaribbean International Conference in Santo Domingo in July 2024. As part of the region’s largest bird conservation event, TTBO shared insights on our ongoing research, including bird banding efforts and species monitoring, such as the recovery of the White-tailed Sabrewing. The conference provided an opportunity to collaborate with other conservationists, exchange knowledge on best practices, and strengthen partnerships to further our mission of preserving the unique bird species of Trinidad and Tobago. This representation highlights TTBO’s commitment to regional and global bird conservation efforts.

"One of the most rewarding aspects of the conference was the opportunity to share the work we’ve been doing in Trinidad and Tobago with a broader audience. Presenting our initiatives and progress at the Trinidad and Tobago Bird Observatory and Research Centre sparked insightful conversations and constructive feedback from peers across the region. It was incredibly validating to hear seasoned professionals express admiration for our efforts, and even more so to engage in dialogues where we could exchange ideas and strategies."
