Our Programs
Our programs are designed to enhance bird conservation through research, education, and community engagement. Each program offers unique opportunities for individuals to get involved in protecting and studying our region’s bird species, while fostering a deeper connection to nature. Whether you’re a researcher, educator, or nature enthusiast, our programs provide valuable insights and hands-on experiences to advance environmental stewardship.
Bird Banding and Research Program
Our Bird Banding Program is at the core of TTBO’s research efforts. Through banding and monitoring local and migratory bird species, we gather important data on the age of birds based on molt and feather development, population trends, migration routes, and survival rates. This program contributes to global bird conservation networks and helps inform species management and protection strategies.

Educational Outreach Program
Our Educational Outreach Programs are dedicated to raising awareness about bird conservation and ecosystem health. We offer workshops, camps, and community events to teach the importance of bird protection, habitat preservation, and sustainable practices. This program is designed to inspire people of all ages to become active participants in conservation efforts.

Workshops & Internships
TTBO’s Bird Banding Workshops offer a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience in bird conservation and research. These workshops are designed for students, and professionals interested in learning the techniques of bird banding, data collection, and species monitoring. Participants will gain practical skills in safely handling and banding birds, identifying species, and understanding how bird banding contributes to global efforts in tracking migration, population trends, and health of bird species.
During the workshop, you will work alongside experienced biologists, observe live banding demonstrations, and participate in discussions on the importance of banding for conservation science. Whether you’re new to birding or looking to deepen your skills, these workshops provide valuable insights into the critical role of bird banding in conservation.
